Mohammad M. Anwar is an associate at Fixler & LaGattuta, LLP, where he concentrates his practice on the defense of insured and self-insured entities in a broad range of personal injury and general liability matters. His experience includes premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, property damage claims, and insurance-related litigation. Mr. Anwar is actively involved in all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
Mr. Anwar earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. During his undergraduate studies, he served as an Auxiliary Police Officer with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) for four years, gaining firsthand experience in law enforcement operations and public safety.
Prior to law school, Mr. Anwar worked at a multinational law firm handling high-volume foreclosure, bankruptcy, and financial services matters on behalf of major lenders and financial institutions, where he developed strong organizational skills and experience managing complex litigation files under demanding deadlines.
Mr. Anwar received his Juris Doctor from New York Law School. While in law school, he worked with the Safe Passage Project, assisting unaccompanied minors throughout the immigration process and further strengthening his advocacy, client-focused representation, and legal research abilities.
Prior to joining Fixler & LaGattuta, Mr. Anwar gained experience working on complex Labor Law matters, No-Fault arbitration proceedings, and plaintiff-side personal injury cases. Since joining the firm, he has continued to develop strong legal analysis and writing skills while handling a broad range of matters, including personal injury, Labor Law, property damage, motor vehicle accidents, and general liability claims.
Outside of the office, Mr. Anwar practices kickboxing and jiu-jitsu, enjoys cooking for his wife, and spends his free time working on cars.
